Ik ben voor de opleiding tot coupeuse nu bezig met het maken van kragen, deze week de tulpkraag. En ook nog een plaatje van vorige week: de shawlkraag. Gemaakt van tweedehands stoffen ✨

I’m practising making new kind of collars. I use secondhand fabrics and leftovers for these. These are the ones I made this week and the week before! 🥰 I have no idea what you call them in english, please let me know if you do!

So it’s been busy helping my bf move to a new house and also moving my workspace, but here are the first pictures! I can finally work and have clients over at my new space in Krommenie, the Netherlands!

I’m sharing this space with @momos_macrame and rehearse here with @permission2band as well and i’m glad we’ve found such a versitile space again!

I never posted the finished result of my sewing studio, which hasn’t been finished too long ago, but I wanted to capture it before leaving! It’s been a fun few months of working and band practise in this space, but I have to move out before the end of the month. Luckily @monique_hendriks_kee_ and I already found a new amazing space for our creative projects!

I’ve decided to finish this mock up and make it into a neatly finished dress, so it can be enjoyed too! It was made from secondhand fabrics. Maybe I would’ve chosen a different fabric if I knew this from the start, but that, of course, wasn’t the point of the mock up. It just turned out so cute! Also, check out my new labels by @dutchlabelshop ! I love them!

@moniquehendrikskee_zanglokaal needed a new creative person to share this giant workspace with, and I was very happy to be that person. Here are some #WIP pictures from the first weeks where I was painting, moving there and searching for secondhand furniture! I painted the purple swirls to make It feel more like my space too and It was such a good match with the yellow and black. (My home is purple, black with yellow accents too xD) I got most of the furniture for free from people who got new furniture for their business and retired their business. I’m so happy with the filing cabinets for my patterns, the big chair for hand sewing, and desks for my sewing machines <3

I’ve been working here for the last couple of months and it’s lovely 💜 so, more pictures soon!

It’s time for #throwbackthurday part 4! I graduated as a costumer last february, but didn’t have a lot of time to keep up with social media. But here’s what I’ve been up to: I got a picture of a piece of clothing every week and I had to #draft and #sew this garment. So here’s the endresult of my final rehearsal before I went into the exam again. It wasn’t completely finished, but it looked lovely and I had faith that I could pull it off!

Alice always wants to help me when I’m working on pattern drafting or sewing stuff. It helps when I give her her own piece of paper or fabric most of the time. She’s mostly chilling while I’m working, and wants to be cuddled a lot. But eventually she learned how to remove pins from my fabric?! I guess so I’d give her more attention. So she’s not allowed in my room when there’s pinned stuff out there anymore... ): But I’m working in my new workspace mostly now, which is not at home. I miss Alice, but she’s safe now and so is my work xD

It’s time for #throwbackthurday part 3! I graduated as a costumer last february, but didn’t have a lot of time to keep up with social media. But here’s what I’ve been up to: I got a picture of a piece of clothing every week and I had to #draft and #sew this garment. So here’s the top I had to make for my exam the first time. I wasn’t fast enough to finish it in time (5 hours from picture to finished garment), so I didn’t succeed. I had to make it again for practise and I was so happy how it turned out. It felt like I’d grown a lot since my last exam. Both my skills and concentration. Getting there eventually!

It's time for #throwbackthurday part 2! I graduated as a costumer last february, but didn't have a lot of time to keep up with social media. But here's what I've been up to: I got a picture of a piece of clothing every week and I had to #draft and #sew this garment. So here's one of the dresses I worked on the longest. There were a lot of difficult aspects to it for how long I've been sewing: the pockets, very round princess seams, pleated sleeves and the tied collar. So I was really proud when I finally finished this one!

My partner mentioned that he could 3D print stuff

My partner mentioned that he could 3D print stuff for me if I wanted to. And I’ve been annoyed with the fact that my 1/2 scaled dresses don’t fit well on (children’s) clothes hangers. So he printed customized ones for me! We used the ‘doll clothing hanger’ made by Rooybooy from @thingiverse and only changed the scale to my liking

I’m planning on #3Dprinting some more sewing related stuff... if you have any cool ideas, let me know!

Day 2 of following the sleeve workshop by Shingo sato @tr_cutting_school hosted by @dutch_couture_academy was all about origami sleeves! We learned how to fold some origami shapes with paper and then learned how to translate this to our fabrics and patterns. This can be used for more than just sleeves, and I’m very happy to have learned this new skill so I can experiment in my future garments!

🇺🇸 Been walking in Memphis for a few days, went to the Sun Studios, Beale Street and to Graceland!

Graceland was huge, and there were many impressive things to see!! but I wasn’t very impressed with the few clothingitems I’ve been seeing the first ehhh… few hours? And just when I thought maybe they don’t have that many costumes left, I walked into this room. By far the most impressive display I’ve seen. (Of course they saved this for last, what’ve I been thinking?!😂) So I wanted to share some pictures with you guys! There’s so much craftmanship in these, it was lovely to be able to look at them from up close! Also gave me some new inspiration for stagewear! I hope you enjoy these pics ❤️🎙️

I received some pictures and videos of our last show with @permission2band , and I wanted to show them off here as well, since I finally finished the pants I'm wearing in time for this show! I'm really happy with the fit. I started on them before I even started my costumer school, so they've been laying around for awhile. But beter late than never, and I'm sure that I'm gonna wear them so much!
